Xinjiang Shao
Founder of GroceryTrack
Xinjiang started GroceryTrack in March 2026 to answer a question a pile of receipts never could: what he actually buys, where the grocery money really goes, and whether prices were climbing or it only felt that way. The first version went live on March 14, 2026, one day after he decided to build it.
He builds and runs every part of it: the web app, the iPhone and Android apps, the receipt-reading pipeline, and the MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants answer questions from your own receipts. He also writes the blog, which covers grocery prices, receipts and how people shop, using public data and what he has learned building the app.
The story so far, with the numbers, is in Seven Months of GroceryTrack. To reach him, use the support page.
