Data & Account Deletion Policy

Last modified: May 5, 2026

This page explains how to delete your GroceryTrack account and the data associated with it. GroceryTrack is published by Slash Dev Slash Null LLC, the developer listed on the Google Play store.

How to Request Account Deletion

You have two ways to delete your GroceryTrack account and the personal data we hold for you.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

On the web (grocerytrack.food):

  1. Sign in with your Google account or username and password.
  2. Click your avatar in the top-right corner to open the account menu.
  3. Choose Profile.
  4. On the /profile page, tap Delete account and confirm when prompted.

On iOS and Android:

  1. Open the GroceryTrack app and sign in with your Google account, Apple ID, or username and password.
  2. Tap the Profile tab.
  3. Tap Edit profile.
  4. Tap the Delete account button and confirm when prompted.

Your account, receipts, trip notes, budgets, and uploaded images will be removed from our live systems immediately.

Option 2 — Email request

If you can no longer sign in, or you would prefer to delete your account by email:

  1. Send an email from the address associated with your account to privacy@grocerytrack.app.
  2. Use the subject line "Delete my account".
  3. Include the email or username used to sign in to GroceryTrack.

We will confirm the deletion by email within 7 days of receiving your request.

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our live databases:

  • Your profile information (display name, profile photo reference, email)
  • All receipts you uploaded or forwarded, including line items, totals, store names, and dates
  • Receipt images and Grocery Snap photos stored in Cloud Storage
  • Trip notes and any manual corrections you made to extracted data
  • Budget preferences and questionnaire responses
  • Alternative email addresses configured for household receipt forwarding
  • Feedback messages and screenshots you submitted
  • OAuth client registrations and access tokens for any third-party AI assistants (MCP) you connected
  • Subscription metadata stored on our side (Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, billing period)

What Data Is Kept, and for How Long

A small amount of data is retained after account deletion for legal, security, and service-integrity reasons:

  • Backups & archives — encrypted backups of our databases may continue to contain your data for up to 30 days after deletion before they are rotated out.
  • Payment & tax records — invoices and transaction records required for accounting and tax compliance are retained for up to 7 years, as required by U.S. tax law. These records are stored by Stripe, our payment processor, under Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Aggregated, de-identified analytics — usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you (event counts, feature usage) are retained indefinitely for product analytics.
  • Public store directory entries — the public store directory at /store includes only canonicalized store names aggregated across all users; no receipt contents, prices, notes, or user identifiers are included, so nothing user-specific is retained there.
  • Abuse, fraud, and security logs — minimal records (e.g., IP addresses tied to abuse signals, error logs in Sentry) may be retained for up to 90 days to protect the Service.

Third-Party AI Assistants (MCP)

If you previously authorized a third-party AI client (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to access your GroceryTrack data through our MCP server, deleting your account revokes their access tokens immediately. However, any data those clients already retrieved and stored on their side is governed by their own privacy policies — we cannot delete it for you. You may need to contact those providers separately to request deletion on their systems.
