Five ways to add receipts
Snap a paper receipt with the camera, choose a PDF or an image from Files, share a receipt or a link to one from Mail, Messages, or Safari, forward digital emails from Instacart, DoorDash, or Walmart, or use Snap Groceries to capture items with no receipt at all.

The Ask update
- Ask — a new tab. Put a question to your own shopping in plain language ("what do I buy most often?", "when was my last trip to Whole Foods?") and get an answer read out of your receipts
- Add a receipt from a file — Choose file on the Scan tab takes a PDF or an image straight from Files
- Share a receipt to GroceryTrack from any app — a PDF, an image, or a link to an online receipt from Mail, Files, Messages, or Safari — and it is read the same way a scan is
- Receipts that came from a file or a link keep the original: Open original in the receipt detail shows the PDF or the page you shared
- A heads-up when a receipt looks like one you already added — keep both, or delete the extra with one tap
- Integrations in your profile: send a shopping list to Apple Reminders, block out your grocery day in Calendar — weekly, on the day you actually shop — and export every receipt as a CSV (Pro)
- Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP client to your data, with the connector name and server URL a tap away
- Pro subscribers can choose the AI model tier used to read receipts and to answer Ask, under Profile ▸ AI models
- A gentler first run: a primer before the camera permission, a reminder about email forwarding if you skip the first scan (with a warning if you signed in with Hide My Email), and a notifications opt-in for the weekly recap and monthly report
- Pantry keeps repurchases apart — the same item bought on two trips shows as two rows with their own freshness, oldest first
- A dark-mode pass over the whole app — the tinted cards, banners and badges that stayed stubbornly light are fixed, and the Grocery Year heatmap now shades dim-to-bright so a heavy week reads as heavy
- Creating an account with an email address now asks for your name, so you are not nameless everywhere it is shown
- Terms and Privacy are linked from the first screen you see, not just the email form, and every acceptance is recorded
- We no longer record session replays — crash and error reporting are unaffected
- The Nutrition tab is gone. It was not being used, and the space is better spent on Ask

The post-scan review update
- A two-step review after every scan — quick-check the store, total, and each line with its category, then see that trip’s own category breakdown before you close
- Fix the store name, purchase date, and currency right after scanning, instead of finding them wrong later in History
- Setting the currency once saves it as your preference, so an ambiguous “$” stops being misread on the next receipt
- Grocery Year heatmap on the dashboard (Pro) — twelve months of shopping at a glance, tap any day to see what it held
- Region settings for currency and time zone — the zone follows your device and travels with you, shown as a city rather than a raw code
- Every receipt now shows how it arrived: scanned in the app, captured with Grocery Snap, or forwarded from an email address
- Fixes: corrections made straight after a scan now save reliably, failed edits surface instead of disappearing quietly, and editing a receipt no longer rewrites how it arrived
