1. Your Relationship with GroceryTrack
1.1 Your use of GroceryTrack's products, software, services, and websites (referred to collectively as the "Services") is subject to the terms of a legal agreement between you and Slash Dev Slash Null LLC ("Company"), operating as GroceryTrack. This document explains how the agreement is made up and sets out some of the terms of that agreement.
1.2 These Terms of Service form a legally binding agreement between you and the Company in relation to your use of the Services. It is important that you take the time to read them carefully. This legal agreement is referred to below as the "Terms".
2. Accepting the Terms
2.1 In order to use the Services, you must first agree to the Terms. You may not use the Services if you do not accept the Terms.
2.2 You can accept the Terms by:
(A) clicking to accept or agree to the Terms, where this option is made available to you in the user interface for any Service; or
(B) by actually using the Services. In this case, you understand and agree that GroceryTrack will treat your use of the Services as acceptance of the Terms from that point onwards.
2.3 You may not use the Services and may not accept the Terms if (a) you are not of legal age to form a binding contract, or (b) you are a person barred from receiving the Services under the laws of the United States or other countries including the country in which you are resident or from which you use the Services.
3. Description of the Services
3.1 GroceryTrack is a web and mobile application that allows users to photograph or forward grocery receipts and uses AI to extract items, prices, and categories for personal spending tracking and analytics.
3.2 The Services include, but are not limited to: receipt image upload and email-forwarded receipt ingestion; AI-powered extraction (including item names, prices, categories, quantities, unit prices, weights, and organic/perishable classification); Grocery Snap, a feature that identifies grocery products from a photo of the items themselves (not a receipt) and creates a receipt entry with AI-estimated prices; spending dashboards and analytics; budget tracking; receipt history management; free-form trip notes you can attach to any receipt; AI-generated summaries of your trip notes on request; public, de-identified store directory pages listing stores where receipts have been recorded; pantry tracking, which infers what you have on hand from your receipt history and lets you record stock levels and shelf-life expectations; shopping lists with AI-suggested items; recipe suggestions generated from your pantry contents; Grocery Memory, a periodic AI-generated recap of your household's grocery activity; a public nutrition reference covering common grocery items; a referral programme; and data export.
3.3 The Services include a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at /api/mcp that lets you authorize third-party AI clients (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to read your receipts, line items, trip notes, and spending summaries on your behalf via an OAuth 2.1 + PKCE flow. You are responsible for choosing which clients to connect, and data that leaves GroceryTrack through an authorized client is handled according to that client's terms and privacy policy. You may revoke a client's access at any time by contacting support.
3.4 The Services use third-party tools for error monitoring, crash reporting, and performance tracking (currently Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics) to help us identify and fix issues. These tools may collect technical data such as error details, device and browser information, and user actions leading up to an error. See our Privacy Policy for details.
3.5 The Services include mobile applications for iOS and Android (and a macOS build). The mobile apps are offline-first: receipts and related data are stored in a database on your device and synchronised with our servers when a connection is available. Some features are available only on mobile, including receipt scanning with your device camera, an optional biometric app lock, home screen widgets, and push notifications.
3.6 With your permission, the mobile apps integrate with features of your device and operating system — including the camera and photo library, biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID), push notifications, home screen widgets, and, on iOS, Apple Reminders, to which the app can write your shopping list. You may grant or revoke each of these permissions at any time in your device settings; declining a permission disables only the feature that depends on it.
4. Provision of the Services
4.1 GroceryTrack is constantly innovating in order to provide the best possible experience for its users. You acknowledge and agree that the form and nature of the Services may change from time to time without prior notice to you.
4.2 As part of this continuing innovation, you acknowledge and agree that GroceryTrack may stop (permanently or temporarily) providing the Services (or any features within the Services) to you or to users generally at GroceryTrack's sole discretion, without prior notice to you. You may stop using the Services at any time.
4.3 You acknowledge and agree that if GroceryTrack disables access to your account, you may be prevented from accessing the Services, your account details, or any files or other content which is contained in your account.
5. User Accounts
5.1 To use the Services you must create an account. You may sign in with a Google account, with Sign in with Apple, or with an email address and password. You agree that any information you provide, or that is provided through your Google or Apple account, will always be accurate, correct, and up to date.
5.2 You agree and understand that you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
5.3 You agree to immediately notify GroceryTrack of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
6. Use of the Services
6.1 You agree to use the Services only for purposes that are permitted by (a) the Terms and (b) any applicable law, regulation, or generally accepted practices or guidelines in the relevant jurisdictions.
6.2 You agree not to access (or attempt to access) any of the Services by any means other than through the interface that is provided by GroceryTrack, unless you have been specifically allowed to do so in a separate agreement.
6.3 You agree that you will not knowingly engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Services (or the servers and networks which are connected to the Services).
6.4 You agree that you will not reproduce, duplicate, copy, attempt to create a substitute or similar service through use of or access to, sell, trade, or resell the Services for any purpose.
6.5 You agree that you are solely responsible for (and that GroceryTrack has no responsibility to you or to any third party for) any breach of your obligations under the Terms and for the consequences of any such breach.
7. Your Content
7.1 You retain ownership of all receipt images, data, and other content you upload to the Services ("Your Content").
7.2 By uploading Your Content, you grant GroceryTrack a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use Your Content solely for the purpose of providing, maintaining, and improving the Services. This includes processing receipt images through AI services for data extraction and generating item images.
7.3 You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content does not violate any applicable laws or the rights of any third party.
7.4 GroceryTrack may use de-identified, aggregated data derived from Your Content for analytics, service improvement, and research purposes.
8. AI Processing
8.1 Receipt data is processed using Google Gemini AI for text extraction, item categorization, quantity and weight detection, organic and perishable classification, and image generation. Your receipt images are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Google's API terms of service apply to this processing.
8.2 When you use Grocery Snap, photos of grocery items you upload are sent to Google Gemini AI to identify the products and estimate likely prices based on general market data. Grocery Snap prices are estimates, not transaction records — they may differ materially from what you actually paid, and any receipt created via Grocery Snap is flagged accordingly. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting these estimates before relying on them for budgeting or reimbursement.
8.3 When you use the "Summarize" action on a store's trip notes, the trip notes you have saved for that store are sent to Google Gemini AI to generate a short recap. Summaries are AI-generated and may not perfectly reflect the underlying notes.
8.4 Other features of the Services also rely on Google Gemini AI, including pantry restock recommendations, shelf-life estimates, shopping list suggestions, recipe suggestions generated from your pantry contents, and Grocery Memory recaps. These outputs are generated from your receipt and pantry data and are suggestions, not advice. Shelf-life estimates and freshness indicators are approximations and must never be relied on to determine whether food is safe to eat — use your own judgement and any date labelling on the product itself.
8.5 Recipe suggestions do not account for allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions unless you have told us about them, and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always check ingredients yourself before cooking or eating. Nothing in the Services is medical, nutritional, or dietary advice.
8.6 While we strive for accuracy, AI-extracted data, AI-estimated prices, AI-generated summaries, and AI-generated recommendations may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of extracted information, and you may correct AI-extracted fields (store name, item names, prices, totals, flags) and edit or remove trip notes at any time from the receipt detail view. GroceryTrack is not liable for any decisions made based on AI-extracted, AI-estimated, or AI-summarized data.
8.7 To measure and improve the accuracy of AI features, we record the AI requests we make on your behalf and their results with an AI monitoring provider (currently Langfuse). These records include the content sent to the AI model, such as receipt text and extracted items, but email addresses and payment card numbers are masked before they are sent. These records are used only to operate and improve the Services and are deleted when you delete your account. See our Privacy Policy for details.
9. Third-Party AI Clients and MCP Integrations
9.1 The MCP server lets you grant third-party AI clients scoped, time-limited access to your GroceryTrack data using OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. You are solely responsible for the clients you choose to authorize, and for any actions those clients take with data retrieved on your behalf.
9.2 Once a client is authorized, the data returned by our MCP tools is processed by that client under its own terms and privacy policy. GroceryTrack does not control, and is not responsible for, how an authorized client stores, uses, or further transmits your data after it leaves our systems.
9.3 Access tokens are short-lived (default expiry: one hour). You can revoke a client's access at any time by contacting support, which invalidates that client's tokens.
9.4 You agree not to use the MCP server or any API endpoint to scrape, resell, or republish data belonging to other users, or to build a competing product. Only read-only tools are exposed; you agree not to attempt to bypass this restriction.
10. Billing and Payment
10.1 New accounts receive a 30-day free trial with access to all Pro features. No credit card is required during the trial period. After the trial expires, your account will automatically revert to the Starter plan, which includes a limited monthly scan allowance and limited history, unless you subscribe to a paid plan.
10.2 If you select a paid Services level, you may choose to subscribe and pay for the Services on either a monthly or annual basis. GroceryTrack reserves the right to modify pricing at any time, provided however that GroceryTrack will notify you by email prior to any price increase affecting your account.
10.3 How you are billed depends on where you subscribe.
(A) Web. Subscriptions purchased on our website are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor. GroceryTrack does not directly collect, store, or process your credit card numbers or payment card details. By subscribing on the web you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe using industry-standard encryption.
(B) iOS. Subscriptions purchased in our iOS app are sold and billed by Apple as In-App Purchases and are charged to your Apple Account. Payment is confirmed at purchase and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
(C) Android. Subscriptions purchased in our Android app are sold and billed by Google through Google Play Billing and are charged to your Google Play account.
We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management platform, to validate purchase receipts and keep your subscription status in sync across your devices and the web. RevenueCat does not receive your payment card details.
10.4 Auto-renewal. All subscriptions renew automatically for an additional period of the same length unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your subscription continues until you cancel it.
10.5 How to cancel. You must cancel through whichever platform you subscribed on:
- Web (Stripe): through the billing portal in your account settings.
- iOS (Apple): in the Settings app on your device under your name → Subscriptions, or via the App Store. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Android (Google): in the Google Play Store app under Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro access until then. We cannot cancel an Apple or Google subscription on your behalf.
10.6 Refunds. For subscriptions purchased on the web, refund requests may be submitted to support@grocerytrack.app within 14 days of a charge; refunds are issued at the sole discretion of Slash Dev Slash Null LLC. Refunds for purchases made through Apple or Google are handled solely by Apple or Google under their own policies — we are not able to issue them. Apple refund requests can be made at reportaproblem.apple.com.
10.7 Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where required by the applicable app store.
10.8 You are responsible for any taxes, duties, and fees associated with the sale of the Services (other than GroceryTrack's income tax).
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11.2 In no event shall GroceryTrack be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your use of or inability to use the Services; (b) any inaccurate data extraction or processing; (c) unauthorized access to or alteration of your data; or (d) any other matter relating to the Services.
11.3 GroceryTrack's total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to GroceryTrack for the Services during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GroceryTrack and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your access to or use of the Services; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) Your Content.
13. Termination
13.1 GroceryTrack reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice.
13.2 You may stop using the Services at any time. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting support.
13.3 Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
14. Changes to the Terms
14.1 GroceryTrack may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a prominent notice on the Services at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
14.2 Continued use of the Services after changes constitute acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services.
15. General Legal Terms
15.1 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and GroceryTrack with respect to the Services and supersede all prior agreements.
15.2 If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
15.3 The failure of GroceryTrack to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
15.4 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16. Apple-Specific Terms
This section applies only to the GroceryTrack application you obtain from the Apple App Store (the "iOS App"). It supplements the rest of these Terms, and in the event of a conflict, this section controls with respect to the iOS App.
16.1 Acknowledgement. These Terms are concluded between you and Slash Dev Slash Null LLC only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Slash Dev Slash Null LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the iOS App and its content. These Terms do not provide for usage rules for the iOS App that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, and in the event of any conflict, the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions apply.
16.2 Scope of Licence. The licence granted to you for the iOS App is a non-transferable licence to use the iOS App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the iOS App may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
16.3 Maintenance and Support. Slash Dev Slash Null LLC is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the iOS App, as specified in these Terms or as required under applicable law. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the iOS App.
16.4 Warranty. Slash Dev Slash Null LLC is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the iOS App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the iOS App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the iOS App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the sole responsibility of Slash Dev Slash Null LLC.
16.5 Product Claims. Slash Dev Slash Null LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the iOS App or your possession and use of the iOS App, including but not limited to (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the iOS App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
16.6 Intellectual Property Rights. In the event of any third-party claim that the iOS App or your possession and use of the iOS App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Slash Dev Slash Null LLC, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
16.7 Legal Compliance. You represent and warrant that (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
16.8 Developer Name and Address. Questions, complaints, or claims with respect to the iOS App should be directed to:

16.9 Third-Party Terms of Agreement. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the iOS App.
16.10 Third-Party Beneficiary. You acknowledge and agree that Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.
